Specialisation Measurement and Control

The programme basically consists of one year of course work (60 ECTS) and a second year with industrial training and the MSc project (20+40 ECTS). The diagram below shows a typical schedule for a student with a BSc in EE of a Dutch university. But all programmes are tailored for the individual student in a meeting with the programme coordinator. Please contact prof. Job van Amerongen ( J.vanAmerongen@utwente.nl) for more information.

The list below gives compulsory and recommended courses for students who want to do the MSc project in the Control Engineering Group

Bridging courses (for students entering the programme from outside EE - University of Twente) maximum 15 ECTS

Bridging courses exist for international students and students from HBO and other Bachelor programmes to prepare them for this specialisation (taught in English). Maximally 4 out of these courses (all 5 ECTS) can be part of the bridging programme:

Signal Theory 125119 5
Linear Systems 123149 5
Dynamical Systems 121043 5
Control Engineering 121044 5
Mechanics and Transducer Science 122816 5

Total ECTS bridging

20

Projects

Industrial training (20 ECTS) is carried out preferably in an international company or institute. The Department mediates in placing. Students are prepared for this training through a compulsory course in Ethics.
Industrial training, inclusive the preparation for it 20
Thesis project is a research oriented individual project where a last proof of engineering and scientific attitude must be given. It is always carried out in one of the research projects of the groups involved or the Drebbel Institute and may involve third parties like industry or research institutions. External periods can be part of the thesis work. These will be organised through the responsible supervisor.
