Real-Time Software Development
Elective MSc, quarter 4 (121109).
To learn developing and testing software for complex real-time systems. In general parallel programs are concerned, such that the natural parallelism of the real-time system can be maintained. It is the result of our research, next to theory of Real-Time Systems, as previously was in RTS2.
The course fits in the MSc programme EE, specialisation Embedded Systems, M&C?, TE?

Advanced Programming
Compulsory MSc, semester 1 (121076).
To learn developing and testing object-oriented software for rather large systems. A modern approach of software development for (embedded) systems is taken: UML and UML-based tools are used, where diagrams, automatic code generation etc are exploited. This year we use Rhapsody and C++. Focus is on software for applications in the area of scientific computing, signal processing, networks, measurement, control, interaction. The software projects can be taken from the student’s MSc specialization for which this course is compulsory.

Systems Engineering
Elective MSc, quarter 1 (121108).
To learn and acquire an attitude of engineering design (methods and techniques) for complex industrial systems (mechatronic systems / embedded systems). A Systems Engineering approach is used, which concerns the optimal functioning of the system as a whole, including besides design and development also phase-out and retirement.
This course is graded via a role play on a case study, where each group of students writes and presents a part of the design work. The whole group acts as the design review team, and design reviews are summarized by another team.

Multi-Disciplinary Design Project
MSc-ES, quarter 4 (121165), Done jointly with colleagues.
10 EC project to integrate all courses on Embedded Systems, by doing a Embedded Systems / Software project, where students preferably have a different (BSc)-background.

Project Mechatronics (121045)
BSc-EE, year 2, quarter 4, Done jointly with colleagues.
The accompanying courses on Dynamic Systems, Control, Transducers, Mechanics and Measurment are applied in a project by designing, constructing and demonstrating a mechatronic system, using a given transducer (loudspeaker, voice coil, electromotor etc).

Dynamic Systems (121043 / 121034)
BSc-EE, year 2, INF-MSc-ES, quarter 3, Taught from 1998 to 2004.
Now taught by Peter Breedveld

Modeling and analysis (simulation) of the behavior of multiple-domain physical systems using bond graphs as the modeling language, and 20sim as modeling and simulation tool.
